Guys what do you think about this? Making contact with these guys? www.facebook.com/westernsydneyfootball?sk=wallMaybe a way of gathering momentum for our push into the A-league. These guys are proposing a western sydney team - and there may be some ideological differences - indeed they may not want to get on board the "Sydney Olympic movement" - but would it be worth approaching them? We represent a solid existing team for them. A start. Letting them know our thoughts, talking to them? As I said if this thing picks up speed it will get media attantion. I can see on their page they congratulate us on our victory over SMH. Maybe a potential ally. I think it is a good idea to approach them and try and get them on board but it is important for them to join our ship not us join there's. The more people onboard the better. Why dont you make the approach since you brought it up and seem to value them. personally i believe it is only two blokes.

Paoktzi - yes and this is the thing. My personal opinion is Olympic stays as Olympic - Belmore etc. My concern is - how much of a compromise will the FFA demand from Olympic and how much are we willing to compromise before we say "stuff it - not worth going into the A-league"
Ultimately we are in a great position for the reasons you and other fans have described.

I will make the approach only with your blessings - I just signed up yesterday - I don't want to talk on your behalf. But will do if I get the go ahead. As I have said - we all need to be on the same page - position is join Olympic for Olympic - we have the club, the history and the tradition and they are welcome on board. If these guys are linked with the old SCC - there are about 5 - 10 active guys I would think. It may very well come to nothing but perhaps a case of us getting the differnt groups together under one Olympic banner.

ok I have sent them a private email. I don't think it appropriate just yet to put it as a public notification on their facebook.

What exactly did u email them?
If it was on behalf of the Olympic ultras I appreciate the effort but the right way on speaking for behalf of the group was not taken if this was the case

their fb page has been trolled in either case lol Mini - please note comments from previous posters saying if I wanted I could contact them. At any rate I didn't discuss anything with them - I simply requested a chat - I have withdrawn the request given not every one is on board.

Nah it's cool, if it was just a chat request... I thought it was just dialogue. My view is clear. Everyone is scum whether HAKOA or Sydney United

Yes understood - I did ask for people opinions but I should have waited longer for more feedback.
Anyway - just thinking of ways to get things going.
Like I have said before - as things stand right now - we are in a better position then anyone else to make a go of this.

Aek, I think u have an agenda here. Why do I feel like ur sussing our group out to see I any of us would be keen to jump on the west Sydney bandwagon IF it happens?

Mini - Oh hell no lol - Believe me I am not the type of person to beat around the bush - I would be upfront about anything like that.
Simply put - I think Olympic represents the best chance at a second Gay Leagueteam - (unless some other investor comes out of the blue for a west Sydney franchise) - and if we can get all those who want a second sydney team under the Olympic banner then its all the better for us and for Olympic.
I am upfront. As mentioned Olympic for me is number one - but I have attended SFC games to support football in Oz. I would also support a Second Sydney team - and for it to be Olympic would be my dream come true. Apart of this is the social aspect. <Many communities and children in Sydney have lost their way to drugs and violence. Another Sydney team could be a positive role model for these communities, and give them a sense of self worth.
I am sorry if this is at odds with the mindset on here - and understand fully if you do not want my involvement.
Im apologise if i gave the wrong impression - I feel a little embarrassed now. I will back off.
