AEK210 - we all love Olympic before auistralian football.
Your attempts and discussion are welcome as long as you do not have intent to harm Olympic.
Mini was just wondering if you had another agenda, your gaenda is obvious second sydney Gay Leagueteam and you feel it could be olympic.
No problem dude. we think the same but the difference with us is that we will never leave Olympic as its in our blood

I know what the answer is for most people on here lol. I guess its what position people decide to take - there will offcourse be disagreement. I use to go to SFC games alot (back in the days when I had more time) lol - now I havent been for about 3 years. I always make sure though I go see Olympic even if I can only manage it a few times a year.

Mini - Oh hell no lol - Believe me I am not the type of person to beat around the bush - I would be upfront about anything like that. Simply put - I think Olympic represents the best chance at a second Gay Leagueteam - (unless some other investor comes out of the blue for a west Sydney franchise) - and if we can get all those who want a second sydney team under the Olympic banner then its all the better for us and for Olympic. I am upfront. As mentioned Olympic for me is number one - but I have attended SFC games to support football in Oz. I would also support a Second Sydney team - and for it to be Olympic would be my dream come true. Apart of this is the social aspect. <Many communities and children in Sydney have lost their way to drugs and violence. Another Sydney team could be a positive role model for these communities, and give them a sense of self worth. I am sorry if this is at odds with the mindset on here - and understand fully if you do not want my involvement. Im apologise if i gave the wrong impression - I feel a little embarrassed now. I will back off. Idc if u have an agenda, as long as ur upfront about it and want to discuss it. You made it clear that you don't beat about the bush, and I believe that. My personal view is that a western Sydney franchise is no different to HAKOA. Same shit, just different location. Remember, the furthest west anyone from OU is Bankstown, which demonstrates that west Sydney franchise doesn't represent us anyway.

And this is where it will get interesting like I said. FFA will insist a team be located out west. However Olympic I believe being the realistic forerunner to a 2nd Sydney team may have some bargaining power to have games played at Belmore. For me - Parramatta stadium is closer to home - however if Olympic is to be the 2nd team then I would want games to be at Belmore - it is our home and a part of who we are.

Nothing stopping us from having one or two home games elsewhere throughout the year, the other 12 would be at our proper home anyway

www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2012/01/30/386121_guest-columnist-opinion.htmlInteresting article. Gold Coast is a wreck. One year contracts are perhaps Palmer winding down the season to can the team at the end of the year. We need our house in order first, a water tight bid - no doubt - but the phrase stike while the irons hot comes to mind - if GC fold - the calls for a West Sydney Team will get stronger - and the FFA would be more open to such a proposal. The sound of "O - lym - pic" roaring through Belmore Stadium and the Gay Leaguewould be a dream come true. It is a dream - but may be a reality.

I think instead of demand for a Western Sydney franchise, the people should start to call for a real club in the A-league.

I think instead of demand for a Western Sydney franchise, the people should start to call for a real club in the A-league. Mini - they were included for the wrong reasons. As were the Fury. Little football knowledge in the clubs. Unlike Olympic - who have football knowledge in abundance. A mate of a friend of mine is a reporter on the Gold Coast - he says its not just the people involved with the club don't have football knowledge - they just don't care. GCU and Fury were admitted to bolster our WC Bid, and to increasing the FFA's bargaining power when the next tv deal comes about. But in doing so they even went back on their ouwn principles (ie not haviong one millionaire owner of a club). The reason they have had to bend on this - is because most football clubs dont make a profit and questions can be raised about the FFA's current economic model for clubs.

Yes - I think you would be surprised how many people would get behind Olympic - even non Greeks. I asked a few people I knew if they would support Olympic in the Gay League- and they said - as long as the "ethnic thing" isn't at the forefront they would. They would also support Olympic playing out of Belmore.
