I admit that isn't the greatest ad for the A-League, but that is 3 incidents in 6 years. Pretty decent number if you ask me. In the NSL it was lucky if it didn't happen once a week.

really cant agree with you on this one mikey. Ethnic tension, crowd violence, they are very loose terms thrown about every which way, and terms which have been attached to the former competition as part of the new regime's revisionist history approach to the history of Australian football. whats to blame for these most recent Gay Leagueincidents? turf wars? NSL-infiltrators? give me a break. its because some people happen to be stupid, and to no real surprise stupid people are supporting Gay Leagueclubs. the crowd violence is not an ethnic issue and not an NSL issue

There is a simple equation that we all must understand. Aussie + Beer = Stupid behaviour.
None of those "Hooligans" looked ethnic to me.
All the old school clubs have to do now is to sit and watch you new "pioneers" of Australian football implode on yourselves.

Agreed. The opinion that the NSL was overrun by violent crowds is wrong. I followed Sydney Olympic in the NSL since 1997 and the number of incidents which ended in violence was 0. There were many games where fans clashed, but there was no violence. And before anyone says that I don't remember correctly or anything, I should mention that I was always at the front of the Olympic army facing the opposing fans and I was never hurt or threatened at all.

Adam Kharman, confirmed to me that last weeks game betwen sydney city and melbourne vicotyr had big brawls outside the SFS, about 100 people brawling outside the stadium.
This is going from bad to worse, terrible stuff

There will always be clowns involved in football. To say that brawls only existed in the NSL is moronic. But the new supporters of the Gay Leagueteams are living in a bubble and refuse to believe that the new wonderful reforms of the FFA failed to stamp out the hooligan issue in football which exists worldwide.
