You will also notice that in that interview 1 of the Cro's put up, he was clearly talking of a b-league/2nd division in relation to that statement
Big Sam is talking of an entire new franchise for your part of Sydney

He was talking about being a feeder club for SFC
Not sure how that's better than Sam stating the obvious by saying that some fans of WS clubs would also follow a WS Gay Leagueclub

We will never have our own social club and complete ownership of a stadium. We need people to donate as a whole we are not the types to open our pockets. Look at Sydney United, they are in possesion of their own stadium. We should be ashamed that we have nothing to show after being Australia for so many years. I live in Western Sydney and have no social club to go for a drink or gliko. Cros can go to King Tom, Punchbowl, Terry Hills or St Marys. What is the answer?

You just named a few Croatian Clubs with 1 being the Sydney United club
There are 100s of Greek establishments all over Sydney, just not a Sydney Olympic club unfortunately

Why would there be Greek clubs in western Sydney when there is barely any Greeks out west? Then u use Croats as an example of their community Clubs which is dumb. Are there any Croat clubs in the inner-west, inner-city or st George areas? No. You know why? Cause there aren't many Croats in those areas. And that is why there aren't any Greek social clubs in western Sydney. Plus the majority of Greek clubs in Sydney were established and funded by Greeks from regional areas; hence the Lymnos Club, Cyprus Club, Greek-Egyptian Club, Arcadian Club etc etc
Get a few Greeks in western Sydney to put in their money and effort to establish a club in western Sydney if u guys think u need one, it's what my grandfather and uncles did

Sydney Olympic had opportunities to buy clubs/grounds in the past - sadly it didnt eventuate. Today it is harder to do for a variety of reasons. The distribution of Greek clubs in Sydney reflects the Greek communities geographical distribution. The furtherst West Greek teams in Sydney would be Parrmatta Hellas (are they now called Parra city?) and Liverpool Olympic. Still you would be surprised where Greeks turn up. There is a tight Greek community in St Marys, in the Blue Mountains, Central Coast as you guys would know. Even in my area - the Hills which is pretty much the opposite end of the "Greek Heartland" in Sydney there is a Greek community - they even have a panigiri near Castle Hill every year.

bobolesis,
There is a large population of Croatians out in western Sydney. I'm not sure when they bought their land or if it was donated. It would have been cheap at the time and good luck to them. The Greeks were more closer to the city. Unfortunately, none of our people back then put enough effort into purchasing our own place for football in a time where quite a few areas would've been fairly cheap. I'm talking in the 70s. I don't need to tell anyone the price of real estate in Sydney now. You never know though, if I ever win big in the lotto, I'll by the club a ground. I'll will name it " The Parthenon". The Grandstand I will name " The Alexander The Great Grand Stand ". Only Greeks can sit in it. The skops can get a free history lesson every time we play them.
