Sydney Olympic have signed striker Kutaiba Elrich for the 2012 NSW Premier League season
Sydney Olympic FC have added three more players to their 2012 1st Grade squad list after Sam Awad, Joel Wood and Kutaiba Elrich signed with the defending NSW Premier League Champions at the conclusion of last week.
All three players are welcome additions to our attacking line and look to net an abundance of goals for the ‘Blues’ in the upcoming 2012 season. Sam Awad was a key player for his former club, Sutherland Sharks in the 2011 NSW Premier League season and netted several goals during the competition some that were even against his new side. Awad has impressed the Olympic faithful throughout his trial period and is set to make a stellar impact in the upcoming season.
Former Newcastle Jets midfielder, Joel Wood has also joined the ‘Blues’ for the 2012 season and has previously played for Chinese club Tuen Mun Progoal in the Hong Kong first division after impressing the Chinese side in a trial match. Joel Wood made a significant impression in his first hit out with the ‘Blues’ against Schofield Scorpions and had several of his goal scoring attempts ceased desperately by the Schofield shot-stopper.
‘New recruit’ Kutaiba Elrich lined up with Parramatta FC in 2011 and has now joined his younger brother Zak at Sydney Olympic FC for the 2012 season. Upon signing with the ‘Blues’, Elrich revealed that his brother had a significant influence on his decision to join the club. Elrich has already netted a goal for the ‘Blues’ in their recent pre-season trial match against APIA Leichhardt Tigers last Sunday afternoon and provided his new side with the equaliser in second half.
