My personal thoughts.
The Chairman of FNSW is a man named Robert Sestan, has been involved in Sydney United for a long time at board level, Soccer Australia in the last couple of years and was VERY supportive of Frank Lowy taking over at the now FFA, and has been Chairman of FNSW for a few years.
Now take into consideration comments made to S.M.H by Sydney United people a couple of weeks ago regarding how great a new West Sydney franchise would be, take into consideration Sestan being head of FNSW and within 2 weeks a big announcement was made announcing a new west Sydney franchise that (seemingly) came out of nowhere. It was no surprise to see many Sydney United people and players at the publicity stunt last week, I dont know why Sydney United are pulling for this to succeed other than benefiting Sestan and other Sydney United 'heavies'
Sydney United is now in the FFA's pockets and a puppet regime make no mistake about it. Marconi has been busting a nut to stay strong and rejecting FFA overtures on principle for years only for them to swoop on United and they took the bait, now not being from Western Sydney this doesnt affect me but boy isnt it interesting.
