Wow, a new guy comes on our forum, he is Greek and he is friendly to Olympic and what do most of you do? You attack him because he's been entertaining the idea of supporting the Western Sydney franchise. I ask you all, is this how we are going to attract people to our cause? By attacking them before they've even finished saying hello? To be honest I'm surprised that he actually posted again. I would have told you all to go jump.
This is the shit I'm sick of. Here's an idea, instead of attacking people, how about you show them that we want them to be a part of the Ultras, show them that all the things that people everywhere are saying about us is wrong and we are a group that people should want to be a part of.
Especially after the rubbishing we copped at Edensor park in round 2.

Sydney Olympic is for EVERYBODY, when is the last time you went to Belmore?, which by the way is the most easily accesible football ground in Sydney close to all major areas. Sydney Olympic is the only club mate, FUCK HAKOA and FUCK West Sydney Unicorns as well. |

westendsmassive- I grew up in West Sydney. Offocurse no one can tell an individual what to do or think.
But I want to talk logically to you, using reason.
Forget the emotion of supporting Olympic and its heritage, and WS because it was the area you were born.
I believe by launching WS the FFA has done a huge disservice to the people of the region.
Why - because looking at it from a business perspective, it has not given the franchise the best chance of success. There is no corporate backing, and only has 6 months to get up and running.
So who are you letting down? The families, and the children of the area, many of whom need a positive influence in their lives. All many of these kids know is violence and drugs.
WS will be supported by the FFA. This has a shelf life of two years, unless someone else comes on board. Ask yourself, why hasn;t anyone come on board yet? Because the model is faulty.
The FFA needed a 2nd govt bailout and now face the prospect of financing not only WS but the Jets.
This is not a sustainable model. As I have said before, it is like they are launching a leaky ship and attempting to make it sea worthy while it is on the ocean. And they are attempting to throw as many fans on as possible.
No due diligence, no long term planning. This is not the way things should be done.
Now take a step back and look at the bigger picture that is Aussie football. Leagues and Franchises come and go - but Olympic has survived the volatile world that is Aussie Football for half a century. Who do you have your money on to be here in 10 years?
Now look at what Olympic offers. We are a community club, not a franchise - our fans are our family, not our clients. We do not treat fans like dollar signs.
I can walk into the club office off the street and speak with a director. The fans take to the street to promote the club in shop fronts, meeting with locals.
Tell me which which Gay Leagueclub has fans that do that?
Clint Bolton when comparing the Gay Leagueto the old NSL said - the difference is playing for Olympic, you really felt you were part of a family.
Olympic ethnic? Don't believe the stereotypes. Yes Greeks are a major source of the support, but when I attentded their last match I sat between and Asian and African family.
If you support WS then I wish you well. My mates - all WS lads have not been thrilled by the new franchise, with only one really pushing me to go. I have a connection to the area, off course, and want to support football in the area, but Olympic is number 1.
Every person on here carries Olympic in their heart. Our culture survived hundreds of years of foreign occupation. We can survive 10 - 20 years on footballs wilderness. The fans here are like the erdates, those that resisted the occupations. They keep the flame alive.

I knew coming on here I was always going to cop a sledging. I appreciate the people that have taken on board what I have said and not crucified me for doing so. I have no intention to come on here and convert you guys. You are die hard olympic fans and I have respect for that. All I want is to have a good understanding and respect for each other and to never be enemies. We are nothing like the Cove and all of our members respect what Olympic and all the old nsl clubs have done in the past, the foundations of Football in this country so to speak.
I love the passion you guys have and i'm trying to bring this sort of passion to our firm "West Ends Massive". I would love to speak to you guys in person some day. God maybe you could even help us with some chants, something that would take the piss out off the Cove. Remember we are a new football firm and I would honestly love to hear your opinion on certain things, considering your Ultra's have been running successful for so long. Sta arhithia mou, you don't have to help me at all. But i'm coming to you as a Greek but also a fellow football fan.

I cannot work it out, he leaves hes boyhood club do support a dictatorship, a league that was created to destroy his families football club amd he comes on here asking for help and wanting to ve friends.
What has this society come to relax part of 1 there will be no Gay Leaguesoon wake up to urself and remember ur one of 15 blokes who was calling for a west sydney team so it will be very very hard for this plastic franchise to survive more than 1 season if the league is still alive
