2012 Season Review.

I think we were fortunate to finish 2nd, I didnt think our side was that good this year.

The last 5 games we were rubbish, no wins, no goals and it looked like the team ran out of legs at the end.

We over achieved with the players we had this year.

We need more attacking options for next season, Panny Nikas is a must sign player for us for next year along with a few others.

What are the thoughts of the rest of you guys?

Top Greek players would be a force next season

Overated cant tackle
Nikas class can hold pass the ball and reguraly scores goals

I will disagree with us not havng a striker to score goals

The attitude of the players needs to be looked at

We went 9 games without a loss away from Belmore

We came back to Belmore and expected to win just
as we did away from home

Players thought it would be a walk in the park
Loss to Sutherland Draw to Manly

Losses to Marconi and Blacktown

I would blame our midfielders
Triatis brothers Makyrs and Gullo and Angels
form was below what we saw them play last year

We werent patient with things and alot of times
we hurried things

We clearly where the 2nd best teams

We peaked to early and our last 4 games
we played as we were going to win things

We had lapses in concentraton

Tsekenis has to take some blame with
alot of our tactics of playing long balls from
midfield to our stikers that passing it around
in midfield and keeping pssesion of that ball

Tsekenis got those tactics wrongs telling
his defenders to pump long balls to the midfield
and then to the strikers than holding onto the bal
and keeping possesion

Nick Stavroulakis lol get fucked he aint getting anywhere near Olympic.

We had no strikers kon, Makrys and Triantis scored the vast majority of our goals, not good enough.

The long balls okay do it if you have to, but it was every fucking time just pumping long balls.

Nikas is priority no.1 for me.

No one stands out in the league who I would want at Olympic.

We need strikers thats for sure... Dejanovic injury hurt us more than i thought it would...We basically had the same 12-13 players week in and week out...we had no depth this year.

Nikas, Gaitatzis even the other Gaitatzis I wouldnt mind...and some cunts to put the ball in the net.

As for 2012 year, top 5 was the aim and 2nd was a good result

Haydar out for 8 weeks and Dejanovic gone for the year messed us up at the back. Sama too top scorer 20 goals in u20s last year hacked by Studman first week in training meant he was gone for the season. Vass had a top year always gave 100% but was carrying injuries most of the time while covering in defence and midfield

Angel I thought did as good as could be expected, Gullo dropped like a sack of shit the last 6-8 weeks old the year

Koko was our James Monks aka Hartshorn aka Joel Wood aka Tod Bamber this season, we have not had a good out-and-out striker for 4 years since mayora scored 15 that year

As for his brother Zak after two years I have no idea what the fuss is about he added nothing for us going forward or on the wing no strength no pace no skill

Chris Triantis underperformed in my view and was still voted NSWPL player of the year

Peter Triantis deserves a full-time contract in Europe or something he is our best player, Flea confirmed we have not won a game in two years when he has not played

Studman and Bulldoza makrys had good years makrys especially played DM CM and AM so showed some flexibility in his play

Giannaros had three shockers in the last month of the season , very odd from usually a very consistent performer, Danaskos stepped up but like Kolouris last year he should be playing LM not LB he's not a natural defender and too good on the ball to just pump 50m long balls

On that I agree with comments on Tsekas tactics I didn't like our long ball play it was our only option when we went behind and got us nothing, the last two years we have been a sexy team with the ball on the floor and an ugly team with the long balls, didn't show enough sexy and too much ugly

Hendo GK of the year with just 6 clean sheets in 24 games not sure how that works but okay, not much was his fault and as usual he saved us games with his saves

With Stamatellis starting at CM instead of Vass and Mayora in the team at the start of the year at CF instead of Koko we would probably have won it again this year
