Nick Stavroulakis awarded ‘Player of the Year’ for Sutherland Sharks

Nick Stavroulakis took out the 2010 Sutherland Sharks 'Player of the Year' award at the club's official presentation evening held on the 26th August at the Tradies Club.
Sutherland Sharks’ tenacious midfielder Nick Stavroulakis picked up the 2010 ‘Player of the Year’ award at the club’s official presentation held at the Tradies Club in Gymea on Thursday 26th August.

The former Australian youth international had a sterling season in what was an up and down year for the former NSW Premier League champions however was given the honour for his sterling performances with the Shire based club.

The club’s other major awards on the evening were the ‘President’s Award’ which went to goalkeeper Nathan Denham and ‘Rookie of the Year’ award which was taken out by rising striker Huseyin Jasli.

Blake Powell ended up as the club’s top scorer and was awarded the ‘Golden Boot’ award.

Will the 'skill' of Stavroulakis out weigh the off field drama that he and his connections can generate??

I don't think it's worth the potential 'cost' to the club. We should say "thanks, but no thanks", I'm sure there are other undiscovered players just as good if not better in the same price range without the baggage. Let's not be lazy, get out there and look.
