It's not because of their "ethnic" side, it is because the FFA don't see them viable. Ok so if its financial thing why would you pick the rovers who have no financials at all. But marconi has a social club with hundreds of pokies, and 30,000 social members and own there own stadium? If its viability why are all the clubs broke and making big loses? Mikey, not taking it out on you but your arguments i dont agree with at all and im explaining why Also, Brisbane Roar won't be considered an ethnic club. Sydney Olympic, Sth Melbourne, Sydney United, Melbourne Knights, Marconi etc. are all ethnic clubs as they were built by the racial groups, were supported by these racial groups, their colours were representing the nation. Brisbane Roar are an Australian club, who are going to be backed by a Dutch club. Seriously, some people on here talk absolute BS.
Unlike, many NSL clubs, do they prioritise in searching for 'Dutch' supporters, or do they promote into the Brisbane community? paoktzi, I remember on another forum, you posted that Sydney Olympic do promote into the Greek community before elsewhere.
There is a difference between being backed by 'immigrants' and being an ethnic club.
What is this 800 crowd crap? Paoktzi, by looking at some of you posts, you should be head of the FFA. "My sources tell me this, my sources tell me that". Continuous rubbish.
Who are these "people at the game"? It was easily 6k, if not more. Look behind the goals, both ends!
