Everyone we look back the year was 1994.95. Sydney Olympic were playing in Leched ova which was one of the great grounds in the National Soccer league in that year the old ASF(FFA) Introduced a penalty shoot out if the game was a draw. I still remember that game at LIECHARDT few fans like myself it was ridiculous for a penalty shoot out. The reason why they introduce penalty shoot out it was to make the game more interesting. I remember seeing Tony Spreads as a de fender and the young Peter Tsekenis the most crowd favorite was Nick Meredith a bad boy on the field and his famous shinning head written behind his head the Greek Paper to BHMA (VEMA) and Norme Tome. That summer evening at LIECHARDT the atmosphere and the passion. If you couldn't make it to the games SBS was showing live only second half. Or Listening on radio John Kosmina & his panel live on 2GB 87.3 covering the game it was similar the continuous call team I always remember when we were leaving on the way home we were listening all the NSL FANS calling as talk back and having their say about that game. Greek radio live Sydney Olympic home and away The voice of Greece, on the Greek radio scanner commentating in Greek.
The squad Sydney Olympic Fc 1994/1995
Gibson, Spyridakos (Lee 18), Barrett, Juric, Sorras, Meredith, Maloney, Tsekenis, Milosevic, Tome (Poimer 79), Bacak
The squad Brisbane Strikers
Bolton, Jackson, Hunter, Stowell, Zorichic, Evans (Slater 64), Phillips, Wright, S Cranney, Brown, T Cranney
Here is the highlights and let's relieve that moment during the NSL.
Sydney Olympic 0 - Brisbane Strikers 0 (Brisbane win 3-1 on penalties)
OLYMPIC IS LIFE

Vre Aliti, In my memory when I relive moments Olympic never loses!!! Can you please revive different memories!!! Mr Inde I remember this game at Leichard oval probably Mr INDE it was round 8 Played (19/11/1995) Leichhardt Oval Referee : B Hugo, Crowd : 7133 I remember on a sunday night t was wet and it was well played and it was a draw. United seemed to have the game well in their keeping when Trajanovski first scored when a cross was laid off to him by Peter Tsekenis; and then caused complete bedlam when a long ball found it's way to Trajanovski who scored 7 minutes into time added on for numerous delays during the game. United coach Branko Culina was, just for a change, critical of the referee but there is no recourse here. Olympic atop the table, alone. When Kris scored the last minute the crowds ran in the middle of the ground at leichatdt people when they were leaving they came back pushing and shoving it was the highlight of the night of me it was like winning a grand final cheering non stop everyone was chanting OLYMPIC OLYMPIC. It was great NSL match ever it had people talking for years The sqaud were UTS Olympic Mike Gibson, David Barrett, Nick Orlic, Adam Ciantar, Nick Meredith (Elias Augerinos 76), Milan Blagojevic, Walter Ardone (George Sorras 86), Peter Tsekenis, Norman Tome, Kimon Taliadoros (Joe Bacak 53), Kris Trajanovski Goals : Trajanovski 89, 97 Sydney United John Perosh, Velimir Kupresak, Tony Popovic, Mark Babic, Richard Plesa, Paul Bilokapic, Robert Enes, Aytec Genc, Ante Moric, David Zdrilic (Robert Markovac 78), Ante Milicic (Sean Babic 84) Goals : Milicic 10, 29 Final score UTS SYDNEY OLYMPIC 2-2 Sydney United Thers say Mr Inde a draw is better then loss :

Thats one of the best games ever Aliti re sydney united. As typical Olympic supporters in those days with about 10 minutes to go people would go to the entrance so they can be the first out after the fulltime whisle. The entry was where Traja scored the 2nd in stopage time and the whole place went crazy. I remember just jumping on the field to celebrate and giving it to Perosh in goals... Ah the good old days...
Boys the saddest thing is we will never experience that again... And with young boys i get so upset that they will never see Olympic at the top of Australian soccer...

Boys the saddest thing is we will never experience that again... And with young boys i get so upset that they will never see Olympic at the top of Australian soccer... Thats the kind of thinking and comments endless that has put olympic were it is today, no attacking you love your comment,s but its this type of thinking that has left us with 1500-2000 crowds

Boys the saddest thing is we will never experience that again... And with young boys i get so upset that they will never see Olympic at the top of Australian soccer... I have to disagree with you here. Most of us have at least 30 years of life left in us, some on here, probably many many more. Many clubs around the world have been in the peak leagues in their countries only to fall to the depths of lower leagues and years later make their return. I think SOFC will again have the opportunity to play and succeed in the top league as long as there are people willing to put some time and money in the club. Mr Inde

Mr Inde I have followed the greek superleague religiously for 10 years teams like larissa, volou, ergotelis are all on the top of the history now after many many years of beeing in the lower leagues in the late 80's and 90's! But now they are back getting 10-20 weekly

Boys missing my point the people in charge of soccer in this country will not allow Sydney Olympic back into the top league. They tried so hard to get rid of Us, United, marconi that Lowy that J%w C&*t will never allow us to be there again.
Mr Indi your post on what needs to be done ie clubhouse needs to start so olympic can try and rebuild to be the strongest it can be.
As for my boys either the Wests Tigers or Olympic will be there choices.
