The last training session of the Under 20’s Socceroos in Australia was held at Belmore Sports Ground this morning, ahead of next month's Asian under-19 Confederation Championships in China in the city of Zibo from October 3-17, which serve as qualifiers for FIFA's under-20 World Cup. National coach Jan Versleijen and his side will then head to Hong Kong tomorrow to complete their preparations before arriving in Zibo on October 1. Dimitri Petratos our young striker is part of the team and we hope he makes everyone in the Sydney Olympic family proud. Australia has been drawn in Group D along with Yemen, Korea Republic and Iran. The Young Socceroos will open their campaign against Yemen on October 4, before taking on Iran (October 6) and Korea Republic on October 8. The Young Socceroos will be aiming to finish in the top four at the tournament in order to qualify for next year's 2011 FIFA under-20 World Cup in Colombia and Versleijen believes the group of players he has selected will be able to achieve their goals. Sydney Olympic would like to wish the Young Socceroos al the best in the games coming up and we are looking forward to hosting them again at Belmore Sports Ground, when they train again in Sydney. www.sydneyolympicfc.com/news/2010/09/24/sydney-olympic-fc-hosted-the-socceroos-under-20s-training-at-bel/

good news and a smart idea by the club. people are starting to see that Olympic isnt stuck in the middle ages like the newdawners would like to think, we are gaining momentum and we will be back!
