Football NSW was saddened to hear the news that former West Sydney Berries legend Steve Christoforidis passed away on Friday 8th of October 2010.
Steve played at Canterbury Marrickville Olympic from the age of 13 and went on to play for fifteen years at the club which saw him feature in well over 450 games as a top class striker.
He was a one club man something of a rare trait in this game of ours. Steve was the Berries’ top scorer in 1992 and 1993 and was a well liked figure in the football fraternity as well as the Greek community.
Steve’s funeral details are as follows:
St Euphemia Greek Orthodox Church, Bankstown.
Thursday 14th of October 2010, 10am
The entire Football NSW family wants to pass its deepest condolences to the Christoforidis family.

Yeah guys he was only 36 years old. I played 6 years with Steve and he was a laugh. He was a great striker that would miss right in front then score an absolute screamer outside the box. May he rest in peace and we will miss him terribly.
