I'm in my 40's and remember St George Stadium well. Capacity was around the 15k - 16k mark. When the O-LYM-PIC chant went up at St George Stadium it was fantastic. I remember the mid 80's when we played Sydney City in a semi-final. We went 1-0 down in extra time but I think the legend Soper scored and can't remember the other scorer (could have been Mike Coady) but ended up winning 2-1. Or the Sydney Croatia game when we won 3-2 or 4-3 and Manis Lamond rounded the keeper and still missed (I'm sure some of the older guys on this forum will remember). Also pre-season in 1987 when we played Vardar who were leading the 1st division in Yugoslavia at the time and came out here for their winter break. The ground was full of Maco's and although Olympic was in pre-season training, we still held them 0-0 and the Maco's were livid that their professional team which was leading the 1st division in Yugoslavia could not beat a semi-professional team.
And to think with players like the Kat, Rasko, Kalantzis, Estavillio, Soper, Dakos, Jennings, etc we could not win a comp. I reckon if these guys did a bit of fitness training, they would win the Gay Leaguegiven the aggouria that are running around these days.

Mini, you might have misunderstood me. I meant they are unfit now given their age and not when they were in their heyday. If they did some training now I reckon they would win the Gay Leaguegiven some of the rubbish that is running around.
