This is the kind of thing that we need to be afraid of. They are trying to switch off the footballing atmostphere and move towards family friendly crowds. Where does that put the intimidation? Call me crazy but a stadium isn't going to be intimidating if 40 thousand people are singing 'row row row your boat'.
I can understand what youre getting at but fact is we're getting between 500 and 2000 at home games, our atmosphere has already been switched off for us by 1. Lowy and co. and 2. whoever used to come and isnt anymore
balance is vital, the club and the fans need to encourage as many people through the gates as possible because there is strength in numbers
its hard to argue against the point that 40,000 fans is generally better for the club's finances and image, however.. with just 100 ultras behind the goals we made heaps of noise for 90mins
imagine if the rest of the 1000-odd at Olympic games atm made the same kind of noise and chants, we would sound like 20,000 but at the moment theyre not, so.. its our duty now to encourage more people there and more people to add to the atmosphere
Olympic is Forever but only if we have something to give to the next generation of fans, look what we inherited a national body that hates us and our own that stopped believing in our club and in each other until we showed up on the map and decided to get to work
there is a link being drawn between swearing and these family people being turned off from coming back. either there is a link or there isnt.
honestly im not sure, which is why id suggest caution
70, 000 people turned up to Panathinaikos v Olympiakos and there was plenty swearing there, and more.
I'd say there's no link. The FFA just want to stamp out the football atmosphere to make the Gay Leaguecrowds the same as NRL. Imagine that, a noisy buzz for 90 minutes instead of organised chanting.
