JIM FORREST VOWS TO FIGHT ON!
Well, well, well...
To those "experts" who expected Jim Forrest to stand down, to step aside and let the FFA take over Football NSW, how WRONG you all are!
"Sportsworld" has discovered that Jim Forrest is going NOWHERE- and neither should he.
What laws, rules, regulations has the man broken?
Did the FFA think that the man would just hand over the stae's "keys to the castle" for the FFA to do step in and do whatever it wants?
The clubs, and the associations are uniting for a torrid battle as we speak- and the man who was put in charge by football clubs in NSW is staying put!
FFA may continue to dream about taking over FNSW. That is their perogative. But it shouldn't anticipate an easy contest.
Not after it is becoming clearly evident that the FFA has no intention whatsoever in allowing the Members and affiliates of FNSW to have any say whatsoever in this process.
And so Jim Forrest's response was quick and swift...
And most crucially, to the benefit of all clubs and associations that continue to remain by his side. It is the clubs and associations who will vote on Jim's fate sometime in the coming months- not the FFA.
I have it from very good authority that Jim Forrest, is therefore going NOWHERE soon.
In fact, the ELECTED PESIDENT (FFA better remember this cold hard fact), will be informing, unless he has already done so, the FFA that he has decided not to step aside, resign, whatever, until the AGM is reinstated.
By doing this Jim Forrest will ensure that the NSW Members (not the FFA) will retain control over their organisation. In fact, some needed constitutional reform, and a review of major projects like Riverstone don't actually need an FFA interim board. So why should one be appointed?
When Jim Forrest advises the FFA of his decision, he should be ready to receive countless calls from the FFA- I am sure he is ready for that either way.
Perhaps the national body would be better served by directing its energies into explaining to us all WHY it continues to charge 5, 6 and 7-year-olds three times what Football NSW charges the same age groups?
And for what?
Perhaps the FFA does not understand that all the other football codes actually send money down from 'top-to-bottom'. Alone among the major codes is the FFA- an organisation which charges excessively.
And we all know the reason for that don't we?
So the kids playing in their local parks can keep the national body and its 11 national teams in the style and status to which they are believed to deserve.
Thank heavens Jim Forrest remains in place to carry the good fight on behalf of this great football state.
FNSW AGM LATE FEBRUARY?
"Sportsworld" has further been told that the rescheduled AGM of Football NSW will be conducted in late February.
This will give the President plenty of time to get to the bottom of what's been going on.
And wait and see what is going to come out in the month of January!
Keep watching this space...
