David Komljenovic and Nick Valsamis the new coaches for Sydney Olympic boys Under 16s team



We would like to announce the appointment of Mr David Komljenovic as the head coach for the Under 16s team and Mr Nick Valsamis as the assistant coach of the team for the 2011 season.

David is a dedicated coach that values the respect of players and deals with the team in a professional manner and always aims for the best. He has played soccer for Clubs such as St George Budapest, Nk Osijek in the Yugoslav 1st division, Yugal Prague and Sydney City in Australia. He has coached at Yugal Prague and St George Budapest overseas and at St George and Rockdale City Suns in Australia. He was also part of the coaching staff for Sydney Olympic for a number of years.

Nick is an upcoming coach that holds a Senior Football C Licence and is hoping to further develop his skills and achieve his goals through our historic Club. Nick other than training the local schools where he works, has also coached at Penrith Nepean, Stanmore Hawks and also Sydney University for the past couple of seasons. Nick has also played competitive football for clubs such as: Bonnyrigg WE (SYL), Stanmore Hawks (MSL), Moorebank Hawks (MSL) and Nepean Association (Mens Div2 / Div1).

The Board would like to wish both David and Nick all the best for the 2011 season and we are looking forward to celebrating the successes of the team together with the players and parents. We would also like to thank all other coaches that applied for the position but were unsuccessful at this occasion and we are looking forward to seeing everybody at our home games at Belmore Sports Ground in the 2011 Season.
