There were no problems in the past that haven't occured in the A-league. There was no ethnic tension in the NSL. Why would there be? Honestly, Greeks don't have anything against Croatians and vice versa. Same with the Italians. The mainstream media just loved to brand the NSL with "Ethnic" violence to make the Anglo Australian community feel better that they aren't involved in the sport. Since the inaugural Gay Leagueseason we've seen fights between HAKOA and Melbourne a few times. How is this violence any different to any other violence? But we don't hear about it in the media as much because it would harm the A-league. And Frank Lowy has told his mates to keep it down on the football bagging. Another thing to note is that the only people within the media which are complaining about the quality of football in the top tier are reporters who have been involved in the game for years. The blokes at Fox sports sugar coat the Gay Leagueto the point of ignorance. At this point in time it's hard to say whether Olympic would be viable in the Gay Leagueas the club is. But we have seen in the past that when the Club is in trouble, the Greek community comes out in force and helps the club out. There are also wealthy business people who would financially support Olympic in the Gay Leaguewho don't support in the State league because it's not as prestigious.
