While there have been outside influences, ultimately the Greek government is responsible for the situation Greece is in. Greece and all the neighbouring countries in that region haven't got the resources or big populations to become very wealthy countries. They mostly rely on tourism for their money. It is a big concern because if Greece goes under there will be a flow on effect to our neighbours and that won't be good whether we like them or not. The Greeks will recover but not without unrest and pain. The other major worry are the bigger countries like Spain who are also on the edge. I'm worried about what they haven't told us and how many other countries are in trouble. Every effort should be made to secure the financial status of these countries because if they all start falling that would be a disaster for Europe.

Nobody will let them default. Too many powerful organisations with too much to lose
However, because of the bail out the Greeks will have to make many sacrifices.
