yeah but before that :L i had a greek mate from livo tell me the crowds were gun and then the club switched to another place to play their home games and people cbf making the trip

He means when the white knights had ownership of the club they were nick politis, methew lepouris, drivas and balayiannis combined worth a over 1 billion dollars moved the club from belmore sports ground to shark park.
All clubs have history olympic has much of it loads of stories

The idea was that Leeds united was going to take over Olympic as a feeder club. Unfortunately Leeds were relegated and it fell through the floor. They also wanted to diversify and attract the vast footballing culture of the Sutherland Shire. But no matter what, the club kept it's Greek image, and the Anglo-Australians did not come out in numbers. The Greeks also stopped coming because of the new ideology at the club and lack of Greek atmosphere at the games. Olympic had changed for them and they felt betrayed. That was and remains the reason for our small crowds because once the allegiance is broken it's almost impossible to build up that sort of following again.... The Shark park years were both positive and negative. We attained our second championship, but we also recorded our lowest ever attendance (then) at 1,300 for the major semi final against Adelaide Force. It was in the rain, fair enough, but Olympic should have done better than 1.5k. Sad day. The only way forward now, is a long term winning side, which can win one title and reach the grand final the following year. With that consistency, even if we don't win a title for a few years but continue to make the semi finals the following will be there. Consistency is the key. The mentality that we are a big club needs to change. We are no longer a big club. We just have a long history. Only when people realise that we are building from foundations up again will things change for the better. And instead of trying to bring back the "Old" crowds, we need to be working to attract new fans. The old crowds are old, they have aged, they don't have the same thirst for football. All we need is an idea to attract new fans and it can work. |

In my opinion the new generation isn't as interested as my father and my generation were.
The board or the club overall, isn't doing anything wrong with the way the club is being run.
It's happening at all the clubs.
It's sad but true.We have everything going for us at the moment and our crowds should be a lot better. It's not the time the games are played or the cost, it's a lack of interest and support that is not coming through with the next generation of fans.
