remember this ? elmore Hercules president Chris Balaouras points out a 2005 Alpha magazine article in which Cahill says he always remembers the Hercules, where he played as a 15- and 16-year-old. “He credits Belmore Hercules for resurrecting his career,” Balaouras said. “When he went to Sydney Olympic, they told him he wasn’t good enough.” Olympic’s loss was Hercules gain and now Cahill is an established player with English club Everton. Chris Balouris is my uncle. They were just trying to promote Hercules.

Cigan, Fulham is hardly a big club. Celtic is only big if you are Scottish. When NSL was stronger in the 80's, promoters and the ASF (old Australian Soccer Federation) used to bring clubs like Juventus with Platini, Man United, AC Milan etc out to Australia for tournaments against the Socceroos. LA Galaxy get paid big money to come out. They don't come for free. European clubs don't want them as it's still their season.

tim cahill lucas neill josip skoko harry kewell josh kennedy Cahill - Olympic followed by United Kewell - Marconi junior Kennedy - played for Carlton in the NSL Not saying any of them owe their development to the clubs (although in an interview once Cahill's old man said that United saved his career) but they did have an involvement at some stage

Don't agree with you cigan, what about 1974? What about 1997 when we were 10 minutes away? Those 10 minutes of epic fail changed history.
Plus what crowds did Celtic pull? LA Galaxy only brought a crowd because of Beckham, goes to show how fucked the general public and how strong their connection to football is
