Olympic is far from dead. And the rumours that Olympic may return to top flight soon may not be so farfetched after all. The Sydney United boys may dispute this but I heard something from a little birdie tonight which if true will mean that Olympic is strong enough financially to be a viable option for the A-league. I'm not going to disclose anything else on the forum so don't ask but I will let the rest of the boys know in due time.
Olympic for the A-league.

Also well done to the kids behind the goal you sang non-stop all year! Today we got overexcited and sang our voices out too soon, but a goal in the opening moments of the game will do that. On the up side we had a lot of fresh faces behind the goals and I'm hopeful that they will be back next season to join the crew.

Fuck RavPav, I did a whole lap of the ground looking for old faces, may be they are all a little fatter and greyer since last time I saw them!!
Let me tell you all, and this not to impress you, but to impress upon you; I went to Perth twice, I went to Parramatta Stadium 3 times (2 x Marconi, 1x Adelaide City), I went to Olympic Park, Hindmarsh, St George Stadium all for finals matches, I have been to just about every other ground that SOFC has played at since 1984ish......
Yesterday was a day for the true believers. Given all the circumstances (State League, Semi Pro, Gay Leagueraping clubs etc, etc) the performance yesterday was one of the most clinical displays by an SOFC outfit anyone could expect. The fact that so many turned out to send the message that "WE ARE FOOTBALL"
I love football, I support one club and one club only and that is SOFC, they will always get any money that I spend on club football.
Now if the powers that be only understand that only a true level playing field will allow the cream to rise to the top and give Football in Australia the ability to dominate as a code.
I want my club to be relegated when they don't perform, I want my club to be promoted when they deserve it. I want my club to prosper when we develop a would class player and reap the financial rewards when we sell them to O/S clubs to allow them to further chase their dreams, I want all clubs to pay the penalty for financial mismangement. I want the FFA to govern for all clubs from Carss Park FC through to HAKOA (yes, even they deserve the opportunity to play on a new level playing field).
Let the cream rise to the top, I know where SOFC will be.
I had a brilliant day yesterday, we sent a clear sign that despite all the knives and sabotage we are still here playing the very best football possible for the situation we are in.
All of us should be proud to be part on an Australian club, built not just by Greeks but everyone one of the players, officials, coaches and supporters from every conceivable background that have represented SOFC with pride.
I AM FOOTBALL
I AM SOFC 'TIL I DIE

Mmmmm I am impressed. Great points. Now there is no doubting your passion for the blue and white. Hec, many of us have lived the Olympic life as you know we saw so many faces across so many Australian cities for so many years, Yes we were fucked over by the FFA and Frank Blowey Job. Had they done it through promotion and relegation, it wouldn't have hurt so much. But the bastards went and hijacked a league with FIFA's blessing, while the FIFA banners flash: "SAY NO TO RACISM. You are right, I am proud of this club and its origins. But it is the club for everyone, not just Greek-Australians...OLYMPIC is BIGGER THAN GREECE, bigger than Sydney, for me it IS FOOTBALL. The FFA has imposed a $3,000 cap on transfers paid to state league teams for players they have developed. I cannot understand how this is allowed to take place... THIS IS COMMUNISM. A COMMUNIST act. How can this be allowed to exist and adhered to in our free society? As for your lap, maybe your eyesight ain't what it use to be... Nah i saw about ten or so of the 'old crew' that I haven't seen since Perth and was told that there were several others that I did not see, including you now... There were Orange Peelers there, and Gavin was there last week, and Time keepers and analysts and Tolis and so on and so on.... And, what pissed me off about Cockeril's article was that he needed an angle and while trying to give us a plug tried to confine us to overseas=team lovers with his Olympiakos shirts comments. What I saw were a variety of old school Olympic scarves, Olympic shirts (even the yellow UTS one made an appearance). I saw SYDNEY OLYMPIC! Yesterday i was a little sad thinking this might be a one off... I thought it might be a trip down memory lane... although it was that, today i have a fire deep down, one that can't help to think that together we can all do something... what that is i don;t know... but until then(and until it is a level playing field as you say) , i want the A league teams especially HAKOA to fail and melt like the poluted plastic that they are ... they should be ashamed a whole city of fans to themselves and they can;t even get a decent crowd.... I have no idea what i have just said cause i'm getting tired early tonight, but I am heartened by your comments, your presence, the presence of all those yesterday...
The Paramithi will never end. Sydney Olympic is forever.
