The club sent out letters onthe 21st of december to the 550 life members of our club to renew their life member status.
The renewal is $20 and you will be given a new card!
As life members have not been given cards since the 70's and so on.
If you as a life member do not renew you membership or status you will be taken off the life member list.
Guys if you know any life members please advise them off this.

What is this bullshit?
If you are a life member, it is for life!!
No matter what, they have paid their dues through their efforts or their money.
Even in death other clubs don't remove members from their list, they simply note they are deceased.
Sorry, don't agree with this one.

I dont even understand the purpose of a life member, please explain it to us and what is the benefit to the club?
The club has 471 life members and only like 20 rock up to games.

I can see both points but overall I don't agree with the clubs approach on this issue
There are some things the club doesn't touch for the sake of letting sleeping dogs lie, im not sure why they are going out of their way to deregister these life members
Agree with mr inde life members are for life and that should be respected
On the clubs side the majority of these life members are liabilities they cost money and don't really contribute anymore some of them but we shouldn't go out of our way to disrespect their prior contribution or life member status
Instead the club should just say life members will now need to pay like the rest of us or something

Just for the record the life members are not life member of the current sydney olympic they are of the past company which was deregustered in 2005, the current board could of canned the life members if they wanted to but have decided to get them to register on the new company

Any person who has been granted life membership was given that membership either as recognition for effort put in for the club or other services performed for the club and as such the life memberships should not be touched. |

I dont get it Paoktzi I think we can all see your point, but I still think that on the balance it looks like the club is picking a fight with its life members Even if the life members aren't strictly members to the new entity, are we meant to go tell the life members that they aren't a life member? the clubs action devalues membership altogether which for me is a shame because im a member and im proud to be one |
