So - what are your greatest Olympic memories?
For me - can't go past the 1990 grand final against Marconi. Packed Parra stadium - we were up for revenge after the previous years grand final loss.
The previous grand final we had played all over Marconi - even hit the cross bar in the dying minutes of the game and lost.
I remember before that game Andreas was on the field with a greek flag - arguing with an Italian holding an Italian flag. Eventually - they "kissed and made up" and did a lap of the field - Andreas holding the Italian flag and the Italian holding the Greek flag.
Fast forward to the next year and the two teams were to meet again. Olympic had fought its way into the GF from 5th place - accounting for Adelaide City, Hellas and Melb Croatia (man this is stretching my memory).
What a great team we had - Gosling in goals, Spyridakos, Barret, Hooker (the legendary defenders), Grant Lee, Robbie Ironside, Abbas Saad (the "arahna"), Steve refenes, Gary Philips - who else am I missing lads?
We went on to win two zip - goals by Edwards and Ironside (o sytheras). Great memories!

winning 6-0 vs south was magic, beating northern spirit at their first ever game was fantastic as well
losing 3-1 in the cup final vs the skops was probably the one of the shittest days ever, huge game really lived up to it but we copped the boutsa
plus who can forget grand final day 2011 and the day we sealed the minor premiership when the trophy came in right in front of us with 20 min to go what a day

Ahhh some great memories lads. I remember the classic games at Marconi stadium - sell outs - they had to turn people away - in the 80's and 90's. Always more Olympic fans then Marconi.
I remember one game - and can some one tell me who it was against - I can't remember - where Chris Trajanovski scored in the last minute at Leichardt Oval and Olympic fans stormed the ground and lifted him on their shoulders.

I remember Gary Meyer once at a windy St George stadium kicking the ball from his own penalty box. The wind took it across the entire pitch and it hit the oppositions cross bar.

For some of the older forum readers like myself there are too many memories to list but here are a few in no particular order:
* beating Sth Melb 6-0 * winning the grand final against Marconi and Perth Glory * beating St George at Parra Stadium in the Northern NSL grand final when Kalantzis scored, took his jersey off and the crowd invaded the pitch * beating Sydney City in the Northern NSL grand final in 1984 at St George Stadium in extra time * beating Sydney United in a semi final during a week night at St George Stadium in 1986 (I think) * drawing 0-0 against Vardar at a packed St George Stadium in 1987 in a pre-season friendly when Vardar was coming first in the old Yugo 1st Division * see Tony Pezanno being chased around Pratten Park during the riot * watching Soper celebrate after he scored a goal * 2-1 win in NSL Cup final against Preston in 1985 at St George Stadium

wow some great memories Trifili - some like the Praten Park are a bit before my time.
Soper was a great player. If he played today he would be plying his trade overseas.
I remember before the match during warm ups, he would juggle the ball, balance it on his foot - was a great spectacle to watch.
I remember when he left Olympic though - the Greeks really use to give it to him.
