The irony is that the FFA believe by changing the actors and keeping the play the same they will succeed.
It is the structure that is fundamentally wrong and 3 clubs falling over, and none making a profit is the proof.
TV deal is the onyl possible saviour if they refuse to change.

Olympic United 1-2 finish in NSWPL this year would help to argue that both sides are too good for that level of football and deserve more. Would be good to see even better crowds from both sides, and a boost in boardroom investment. This could be the moment that picks us, instead of a lopsided 9 or 11 team comp they could bring in two sides and Canberra and even it up.
Arguing the toss generally isn't helpful but the stakes are much higher than that. The assertion needs to be printed into the skulls of the general public for after Lowy dies that Olympic is meant to play at the highest level

Firstly as per recommendations of a couple of football reports already published clubs need to be playing out of boutique stadiums.
SFC and the Roar are been bled dry by playing out of 45 - 50,000 seat stadiums and getting only 10 - 15,000 people (if that at times).
The sad this is – the FFA had a failed example to go off – the American NASL in the 70’s and 80’s. Yet they chose to ignore it – following many of the mistakes that the NASL made.
Another issue is the limitation placed on clubs to stand on their own two feet. It is costing the clubs and the league. There have been a couple of clubs I know of already, who had virtually secured sponsorship deals only to have them rejected by the FFA because those prospective sponsors were competitors with existing sponsors of the A-league.
Clubs as a whole need a greater say in how the league is managed. People blame Palmer – but Palmer is a symptom not a cause. If it were solely Palmer fault then you wouldn’t have Tinkler, Sage etc complaining. You wouldn’t have had the high turnover of club ownership happening, and the FFA forced to go overseas to look for investment.
Thirdly the backroom deals have to stop. You can pretty much piece together what happened with the Rovers bid. Rowden – Lowys and Buckleys mate had a bid going for 6 months and got the nod – without any due diligence being done. He didn’t even have the required capital! There were bids that were around for over a year – and they were ignored.
One guy involved in one of the rejected bids would not elaborate on what happened, though he did say “the FFA screwed us”. This creates a tremendous amount of ill will. And there are so many other examples. Bonita Mersiades? Hiring of that Hungarian consultant for the WC bid who has a questionable background.
And lets not get into the total disrespect for traditional football clubs.

Agree with a lot of what youre saying. The only mistake is that a lot of people seem to think that all of yhat guarantees success
Those changes could be just as useless as the current state
Theyd both be unfeasible if the TV deal isnt massively increased

The only mistake is that a lot of people seem to think that all of yhat guarantees success Those changes could be just as useless as the current state Theyd both be unfeasible if the TV deal isnt massively increased As things stand the tv deal needs to be increased or the comp will fail. With the FFA unwilling to change, they have backed themselves into a corner. What a lot of new football fans haven't grasped is that Aussie Football is very volatile. Our clubs survive - but comps come and go.

Canberra getting mixed messages. The FFA never learn. They rushed teams into the comp only to have them fall over, and now they want to the it all again. Fix the structures and foundations then go from there FFA! au.fourfourtwo.com/news/234415,canberra-ready-for-a-league.aspx
