Round Three kicks off this weekend with an intriguing match up on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 3-00pm at the sports fields at Macquarie University.
Newly promoted Northbridge FC got their State League One campaign off to a flyer last week with a resounding win over Mt Druitt, and this week will host the might of Gladesville Ryde Magic in a stern test for the new boys.
The Magic have started their 2012 season with a bang following on from last year’s great showing, with six points from two games and no goals conceded, so look out for a tight battle in this match up.
Stanmore Hawks have had a couple of surprise reverses following their opening two matches of 2012, and will look to put things right when they entertain Balmain SC at Arlington on Saturday night.
The return of prolific striker, Nick Paradisis, from a suspension carrying over from last year, could be just the tonic to kickstart their season.
Two sides with three losses between them go head to head at Ron Dine Reserve on Saturday night, with Camden Tigers hoping their home ground advantage could be the deciding edge against the ‘students’ from UNSW.
With both sides on the back of a loss last week, you can expect some real intensity to be on show at Popondetta Park on Sunday afternoon as Mt Druitt Town Rangers welcome the visit of Schofields Scorpions.
The battle of the lions takes place at Norford Park on Sunday at 3-00pm, with both Fairfield City and Inter roaring to thumping victories last weekend and looking for more of the same in what promises to be somewhat of a goalfest.
The final match of the round takes place at Ernie Smith Reserve as Southern Bulls tackle Hurstville ZFC.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Bulls shape up given the midweek departure of their coach, John Caruana, and Hurstville ZFC will be hoping to build on the confidence they attained from last week’s triumph over Stanmore to snare another three points in this clash.
P.S. All matches may be subjected to late changes, so please refer to the Football NSW website prior to the match for the exact kick off times.
