Jets land Beckham coup Newcastle Jets has pulled off a major coup, luring football superstar David Beckham and his LA Galaxy team to the Hunter for a one-off friendly match next month. The Jets will host Galaxy, which also features American World Cup hero Landon Donovan, at EnergyAustralia Stadium on November 27 at 7.30pm. The match is expected to attract 23,000 fans and bring more than $1 million to the economy. Good on them for getting Galaxy to come out and play them, it will be good for Newcastle.. im assuming that 23,000 is a full house at Energy Australia Stadium? lol the FIFA Fan Fest sucked (tho to give them credit half the reason why it sucked was because the World Cup itself was a bit flat this time around..) Australia vs Paraguay was half-empty and the Breakfast on the Bridge was a just a photo op for Lowy

On another note, the jest will all the increases in fees, more staff, more marketing more expenses and with all the stunts like free tickets, half price tickets, free entry to one round, imagine how big the loss is going to be this season and if it doesnt work the following season how long do u think tinkler will stay around for?

It is to give back to the community, who have arguably been neglected by Con in the past few years. This way, it'll ensure the longevity of the club, and will make sure they will be making profits in the future. I don't see why he wouldn't stay on board. He is a proud Novocastrian, and seems to love the club.
