UPDATE: FFA takeover Football NSW following report findings 17 Dec 10 @ 10:54am by Oliver Murray
FOOTBALL Federation Australia will appoint an interim board for Football NSW while a review of the state body’s operations is conducted following the findings from an independent report.
Last week the Advocate reported that the FFA had asked Football NSW to postpone its annual general meeting amid concerns about its operations.
Read that report here.
An independent report by Ron Hoenig made recommendations regarding the ``structural, operational and governance matters within Football NSW’‘.
In a joint statement from the FFA and Football NSW yesterday, it stated ``the primary focus of the interim board will be the supervision of the conduct of the review.’‘
``The report recommended that a review into the operations and governance of Football NSW be conducted under the supervision of an interim board of appointed directors,’’ the statement read.
``It is expected the review will take six months and upon completion director elections will be held.’‘
The findings of the report, which the Advocate obtained, state: ``There are significant structural and other problems associated with the functioning of the board of Football NSW’‘.
Football NSW president Jim Forrest and directors Linda Ward and George Jackson have resigned following the report.
Former directors Michael Webber and Howard Bradley should not be able to eligible for re-election to the broad for five years, the report recommended.
In September, the Advocate launched Show Us The Money to get Football NSW to show how it spent player registration fees.
Ku-ring-gai and District Soccer Association, NSW’s third largest association, paid $722,000 in fees, levies and insurance to Football NSW this year, with $233,000 of that going to the FFA.
That figure is expected to rise to more than $800,000 next year.
A vote by Ku-ring-gai members on whether to split with Football NSW, which was planned for Thursday night, was called off after the national body intervened to delay the Football NSW AGM until at least March.
Ku-ring-gai president Dougie Hendry said the association would ``wait and see if real action’’ occurred before revisiting the idea of disaffiliating.
``I hope this opportunity to clean up the game will not be lost on FFA,’’ he said.
``The move by FFA is unprecedented and it is hoped that some of the changes demanded at Football NSW by Ku-ring-gai and other members may now be swiftly implemented.’‘
Former Socceroo, football television personality and prominent businessman Kimon Taliadoros announced he would run against incumbent Forrest for the Football NSW presidency before the AGM was cancelled.

so does it mean that the three people who wrote the report one of our own is there to are franks little bitches?
Does it mean that Sydney United have done some kind of a deal with the ffa because let me tell you all that SYdney United was one of the most vocal clubs to stick it to the ffa and not agree to move back to winter then at the vote they dont show up and there director who is the VP is the cleanest of them all and the best according to the report.
This is what frankie did to take over soccer australia now with fnsw to be honest we should all be very scared
who can offer more light on this?
