Q: In this group of approximately 40 players that SOFC has for 1st Grade and reserves you have a great mixture of older and younger players. Was age a factor is selecting the players? What other attributes were you looking for when selecting players?
A: Player’s age does play a factor in the selection process and i do make it a point to have a balance. Apart from being a good footballer the player must be a good person and have the right character for this club.
Q: After a number of years at Bankstown City how do you feel being on the bench of a team you played for and have also been the captain in the past? What is your personal aim for this season?
A: It is a great honour to achieve this and I will endeavour to do my bit to make this Club successful on and off the park.
Q: With the season only a few days away, how do feel the pre-season period was? Are you happy with the boy’s commitment and the trial games results? Did any of the boys unexpectedly impress you during the pre season period?
A: yes I am happy with the progress and the results without being too important were positive. All the players have been great and have all worked hard and looking forward to the start of the season.
Q: With West Sydney Berries out of the Premier League and Parramatta in the top tier, how do you think the competition will be this season? Who do you believe are the favourites for top 5?
A: All teams are capable on their day and I believe it will be an even competition hence it would be foolish of me to predict the top 5 teams.
Q: What are your expectations from the players for the 2011 season? Where would you like to see Olympic at the end of the 2011 season?
A: I expect the players to give 100% at all times and try to enjoy and entertain our supporters and I believe the results will follow if we achieve this.
Q: First game of the season is on Sunday the 27th of March 2011 against South Coast Wolves? What are you expecting from this game?
A: It’s going to be tough like all games to follow. It’s important to get a good start.
Q: What message would you like to get out to all the supporters of the Club for the 2011 Season?
A: Please support the players because I’m sure they will respond with some entertaining football.
