Q: The season kicked off a couple of weeks ago and Sydney Olympic already counts 2 wins in 2 away games. Have you watched the team? How do you think Olympic will go this season?
A: Olympic will do very well this season. Peter Tsekenis has assembled a great squad and they have the hunger the desire and the internal competition for places that breeds success on the park.
Q: What are the main differences you can see in the team this season in comparison to last season? How different is it since you were playing for our historic Club?
A: I repeat the competitive spirit of the squad! The personnel! The character! Well things have changed! Sad to see the great club of Sydney Olympic being in the state league level instead of the Premier competition in Australia the A –League! The days when 3000 to 4000 people turned up at training was a blast! We felt like rock stars!
Q: In your opinion, how will the fact that we have all 11 first games away and then the whole of the second round at home, affect the team?
A: Not really much! From a team point of view that will work out better! They will get used to travelling and winning! The danger might be complacement when the home games come! Just the fans that will be difficult as they can’t enjoy the team at home and some might lose interest altogether! Plenty of hype is needed in the press to keep up the hype!
Q: After two rounds and with mixed results for most of the teams, who do you believe are the favourites for top 5?
A: Too early to call but Olympic , Bonnyrigg , Marconi, Sutherland and Blacktown
Q: What are your personal expectations for the 2011 season? Where would you like to see Olympic at the end of the 2011 season?
A: In the Gay League ! ha ha ! Win the competition by playing good football and encouraging and promoting greek – australian players.
Q: What message would you like to get out to all the supporters of the Club for the 2011 Season?
A: Sydney Olympic represents the Greek community! It unites the Greeks! Support your roots and where you have come from!
