On Sunday 12 June 2011, our favourite ‘Blues’ will play their opening game of Round 2 fixtures at 3pm against South Coast Wolves, at Belmore Sports Ground.
There will be several noticeable changes, due to the current reconstruction that is occurring at the ground for the upgrade of the facilities.
The photos below outline the various changes to the entrance/exit points, parking, seating, canteen and toilet facilities as well as, the positioning of the media box and dressing rooms.
Most importantly, there will be NO PUBLIC ACCESS from the main gate.
ENTRANCE:
Spectators will both enter and exit the ground from Waverley Street, Belmore. Please see the map below of the exact location. Tickets will be purchased at the gate and all season pass holders need to have their card available to be scanned by the SOFC staff.
Spectators walking from Belmore Station can enter Waverley Street via Edison Lane.
Also spectators parking at Peter Moore or the surrounding streets can enter the ground through the lane that runs around the ground from Tudor street.
On the map on the side you can see details of all of these streets.
SEATING:
Spectators will be unable to sit in the grandstand due to the construction work.
All the seats of the stadium will be changed and for the next few weeks, it will not be accessible.
Spectators are able to sit behind the goals in front of the Waverley Street entrance /exit and on the hill.
CANTEEN FACILITIES:
The Canteen is situated on the bottom floor of the old Peter Moore Scoreboard and this year we have upgraded our facilities and will be in a position to offer a lot more products to our supporters that attend our games.
Cold and hot food together with drinks and coffees will be available from early in the morning both on Saturday for our youth games and also on Sundays for the Senior games.
The canteen is easily accesible and will wokr efficiently to serve all our customers.
MEDIA BOXES:
The media boxes are located on the scoreboard building and are equipped with power and all facilities that are needed.
Some of the Media Boxes are reserved for the SOFC Media and filming crew, then another is reserved for Football NSW media, so please do contact the Media Representative of our Club if you need a separate media box to cover the games.
To contact our Media Department, please email us on: media@sydneyolympicfc.com
PUBLIC TOILETS:
Both the Male and Female toilets are in the blue buildings to the right of the hill.
These will be the only set of public toilets at Belmore Sports Ground.
Access will be available from the bottom of the hill and our officials and security will be there to provide access.
DRESSING ROOMS:
The player’s dressing rooms are located next to the score board building. This area will have restricted access as only players and coaching staff will have access. Club officials will be available on the day to guide players to the right direction.
Sydney Olympic Staff and officials will be available to provide assistance, with the location of various facilities. A number of signs will also be placed around the ground to assist and provide directions.
