So was he sacked or was the position terminated? If the position was terminated then there is no position to take up is there? Ill take it that he was sacked because the position terminated does not make sense.

Cost cutting most likely. Running a club is expensive, still though the professional thing would be to keep him til end of of season.

Alternative in future is to keep a person on in the role on a consultative basis..
