Yes general manager confirmed attendance to me today, time not set yet. Topics are - Olympic Ultras 2012 - Get into the Gay Leaguecommittee set up Fantastic - I have to say I admire your organisation and drive. We should take pride that Olympic represent football in Australia - we are footballing history. Football in Australia did not begin with the commencement of the A-league. And we are one stubborn club - who are always there - we have had good times and bad - but as long as people love the club - we will always be there. And we are a true grasss roots team. We represent our community. I will follow the forum - and keep an eye out for the time of the meeting Paoktzi. For now - its off to bed for me - with DJ Paploma and MC Maxilari.

Great post earlier aek always refreshing to hear another common voice, and paoktzi is right we can all do our bit by buying membership and taking a stake in the team we love for real. Plenty of good workby the ultras in recent times and we intend on making 2012 a big year as well. Hope to aee you on the 5th!

Thanks guys.
Does anyone know the General Managers position on Olympics admission to the A-league?
I know there is often a lot of politics involved - and hurdles.
But there is an appetite for a 2nd team make no mistake. I have attended SFC games - although Olympic is no 1 - I want to support football in this country at every level. I have sat with the Cove and SCC, as well as the general fans.
I can tell you a good 20 - 30% of SFC would support a West Sydney team if/when it comes into play.

We are not a western sydney team mate.
We are a inner west, st george and bankstown side.
We are based from Belmore Sports Ground and are roots are in those areas.
We are the only team able to provide rivalry to sydney city.
The west is to far
All at Olympic want to be in the top tier but bottom line is unless they come public and go against the FFA, the FFA does not want any clubs outside there control in the league atm

Yes - apologies - that should be a 2nd Sydney team - not a West Sydney team.
If things progress it will be interesting to see what compromises may need to be made. We know the FFA is desperately pushing for the team to be located in the West.
I would love for Olympic to play out of Belmore - although the stadium doesn't meet the Gay Leaguecriteria (then again Fury's stadium technically didn't either).
Question is - do you think Olympic management would compromise with the FFA on some points or stick to its guns.

From near Castle Hill mate.
Yes basically I am just trying to get an idea of peoples opinions on here. How they view an entry into the Gay Leagueand under what conditions.
Will people be open to a compromise if that is what the FFA want? Will the fans or management be open to it?
Offcourse we will have differing opinions - thats the nature of football - but if any movement is to come about I think we all need to be on the same page - to be pulling in the same direction.
I am all for Olympic playing out of Belmore - I would love it - I believe though the FFA's demands would be different. Still they may be open to discussion since the Rovers bid fell over.
I think its great that we can discuss these things. It is how we move forward.

Ahahahaha - I know mate.
I have a young family and work long hours (12 hours plus a day - up to 16 some days) - so the weekend is the only time to see my little ones and spend time with them.
I do manage to get to a few games a year though. No better feeling then "coming home" to Belmore.

Olympic strength that it our weapon and that no club in the Gay Leaguehas is its stadium deal!
And if its good enough for NRL and Channel 9 its good enough for FFA and FOX SPORTS!
Our stadium deal and Footballing Know How is something no other team in the league has!!!
We also have sponsors and fans ready to jump on!

Paoktzi - yes you hit the nail on the head.
The Gay Leagueneeds a second Sydney team. We have a stadium deal, sponsorship and lets face it - are arguably the 2nd strongest team in terms of support after SFC in NSW.
Add to this as mentioned before the failure of the FFA to bring in a 2nd Sydney team into the Gay League- and the climate may (just maybe!) just be right.
As touched on - im sure Olympic has many wealthy investors who are fans ready to jump on board.

Guys what do you think about this? Making contact with these guys? www.facebook.com/westernsydneyfootball?sk=wallMaybe a way of gathering momentum for our push into the A-league. These guys are proposing a western sydney team - and there may be some ideological differences - indeed they may not want to get on board the "Sydney Olympic movement" - but would it be worth approaching them? We represent a solid existing team for them. A start. Letting them know our thoughts, talking to them? As I said if this thing picks up speed it will get media attantion. I can see on their page they congratulate us on our victory over SMH. Maybe a potential ally.
