I can't remember if it was a semi final or not, I was around 12 or 13 back then, but I remember the flare getting stuck on the roof.

That picture shows a match in '97 between Olympic v Marconi 18,000 where flares were going off left right and centre.
The match you might be talking about is in '99 or '00 at Belmore in a semi-fianl 2nd leg against Adelaide City when the flare got stuck in the roof, there was smoke everywhere and no one could see shit....good times.
