And the disrespect continues by Fuhrer Lowy and his FFA
When will they learn to respect the WOGS who built the game in this country and carried it on their backs for 60 years
DISGRACE

I think this is a potentially problematic move by the FFA, which actually says a lot about the state of the organisation.
Look on one hand, as a kid growing up in West Sydney, I am happy they will have representation. Believe me, when you are constantly told by the media, and by your own school teachers "you are disadvantaged" then it becomes a self fufilling prophecy. Hopefully this team can be a positive influence to the youth of West Sydney.
Sadly, it means Olympic wont be the 2nd Sydney team.
But lets look at the set up from what we know. Funded by the FFA. So the largest footballing region in Australia COULD NOT attract a backer.
We know from the track record that the FFA's economic model is not feasible. So how long will the FFA back this thing? What is the longevity of such a project?
Will the FFA throw millions into this project? If not it will become a cut price team, crowds will dwindle, and this will present problems in itself.
Also there is the question of due diligence. The team is being rushed in in 7 months. The same due diligence done on the Rovers, Fury and GCU?
Also - you will get a surge in crowds when this team first starts. Then what? Do not believe for a second that people will in the long run come running through the gates in large numbers. The club will draw much support from the Liverpool/Fairfield areas and potnetially the Blacktown region, but if the FFA believe by merely putting a team in the comp, people in their tens of thousands will come running they are sorely mistaken.
Again this team is been put in for the wrong reasons. For the tv rights deal, on a wing and a prayer.
A bad business model.

This is a disgraceful lack of football or business sense.
The football supporters of western Sydney will not abandon their teams to follow ANOTHER franchise
The potential misuse of taxpayer dollars and FNSW accounts borders on criminal.
The fact remains that outside of FFA intervention, Sydney Olympic is the most sound option for the A-Leagues second team in Sydney.
A thousand year curse to all those involved in todays announcement
