WELL WAKE UP! ARE WE GREECE, ITALY, EUROPE, SOUTH AMERICA? NO WE ARE AUSTRALIA. In order not to alienate fans, football attempts to provide a family friendly environment. Flares aren't used in England? Does that mean the fans are treated like garbage, and they can't show their colours? No!
Ye, family friendly, because lighting flares is such a violent act...
I mean, fair enough banning people from throwing flares, as that can be dangerous, but holding up a flare causes no danger.

Well it's fair to say that the majority of soccer fans in Australia, or certainly Melbourne, are of European ethnicity, such as Greek, Italian, Serb, Croat, Skopian etc. who prefer the European style atmosphere, and prefer to act like they do in Europe, not like AFL supporters or in England.
And many of these people don't like to have ppl who are better off running the AFL or cricket, telling them that they should support their team like they do in the AFL.

Maybe, just maybe, these fans who were thrown out, were thrown out for a valid reason. Ever thought about that?
I was there myself to see why they were getting kicked out, or see which rules were enforced, so I think I know whether they should or shouldn't have been kicked out.
