FFA READY TO TAKE CONTROL OF FNSW

The FFA has been given the BEST possible Christmas present it could ever have imagined.

Assets worth approximately $55 million.

A new $70m headquarters at Riverstone West to look forward to.

And annual turnover $20m a year courtesy of the organisation's enormous pool of registered players, touching close to 250,000.

Santa Claus Ron Hoenig has thrown Football NSW into total dissaray with his damning and controversial 57-page "Commission Of Inquiry" Report.

The Report opens the way for the FFA to now take control of the country's wealthiest state federation.

The Report has resulted in the cancellation of FNSW's AGM which will now not be rescheduled until the FFA works through the Commission's findings, some of which included:

1. That Jim Forrest (President) be removed as president and a director.

(To his credit, Jim HAS however offered to step aside to allow a full and proper investigation to take place).

2. That former directors Michael Webber and Howard Bradley not be eligible to stand for election for the next five years.

3. That Bradley's life membership be revoked.

4. That Linda Ward not be allowed to stand for re-election for the next three years. (She has since resigned).

5. That George Jackson's appointment be looked into. (He too has since resigned).

Frank Lowy may have missed out on the 2022 World Cup, but back home he looks set to to enjoy the BEST Christmas present ever- by being handed control of FNSW through the establishment of an interim Board - one which I am certain will ensure the FFA keeps a firm grasp of the country's wealthiest state federation for now and forever.

Jim Forrest and FNSW deserve all that they get. It should have happened years ago. Imagine what they have got away with that we never heard about. They thought they were untouchable.

Jim Forrest needed to go tbh. If the FFA set it up better than before and remove the bad eggs from FNSW don't see why it would be a bad thing.

the bad thing guest is that the money from FNSW will know be funneled out to play for the expenses of sydney city and that is not right. this is like a crawford report mark two, the man in charge of the report is family friends with lowy

How would you know what is going to happen.

To be honest the FFA should have control of all the states (especially Victoria the most corrupt organisation in world football besides FIFA) and be setting up regional centers across the country to look after football.

See thats were the problem lies, for me the FFA is corrupt.

They used fake finances to get rid of real clubs due to racial issues clubs that australians built with there hands and knees!

The sooner frank leaves the better we will all be

Granted I don't agree with the way some clubs have been treated the NSL was stagnant and Soccer Australia useless. The FFa and Gay Leaguehave been good for the game. Not in my lifetime has football got this much media attention, qualified for 2 world cups, had reform from grassroots up or been able to make bids for tournaments like the Asian Cup and World Cup.

As much as it pains you the FFA has moved football in this country forward and unfortunately it was at the expense of teams like South Melbourne and Sydney United and Olympic. However reminants of the NSL are still within the Gay Leagueso old football has not been completely ignored.

Besides that being off topic FNSW has needed a revamp for years and this was the only way it was going to happen.

Guest, it cannot be denied that FNSW needed an overhaul, but... With the FFA taking over, it could just be another opportunity for them to dig another foot into the grave for us

They haven't exactly singled you out as a club and attempted to bury you so I doubt they are going to start now.

Exactly, but what about all the ethnic clubs as a collective? They make up more then half the competition

I really don't think that this will harm the NSWPL or Sydney Olympic if it is set up to dispatch the current board.
